Fire Update

The Low Lake fire is still showing as an active fire on the MNR&F fire info map along with one fire on Manitoulin. In my opinion, we DID NOT receive enough rain yesterday to dampen the forest floor so BE VERY CAREFUL. As far as I know, the fire ban is still in effect for NEMI and the area.

FIRES

According to the MNR&F Forest Fire Info Map, there are currently two fires on Manitoulin Island, one fire between Birch Island and Little Current and the fire in the Low Lake area. If you smoke, PLEASE be very careful with your ashes and do not discard your cigarettes or cigars on the ground. I would strongly suggest the use a BUTT CAN which can be any can half filled with wet sand or water. THANKS
