NOTICE OF PUBLIC OPEN HOUSE
TOWN OF NORTHEASTERN MANITOULIN AND THE ISLANDS
ZONING BY-LAW REVIEW
TAKE NOTICE that the Town of Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands will hold an Open House with respect to the review and update of its Zoning By-law. The purpose of the Open House is to provide the public with an opportunity to review the draft document, ask questions, and provide feedback with regard to the proposed Zoning By-law.

Section 26(9) of the Planning Act requires that a municipality update its Zoning By-law no less than 3 years following approval of a new Official Plan. The Town of Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands’ Official Plan wasapproved in 2016, and the Town’s current Zoning By-laws for Little Current (By-law 2002-31) and the Rural Area (By-law 2002-32) were adopted in 2002. The new Zoning By-law will consolidate the Town’s two by-laws in to one and update zone boundaries, permitted uses, and regulations to ensure conformity with the Official Plan.
The Town anticipates holding the Public Meeting for Council’s consideration of Adoption of the Zoning By-law in August 2018. This will be confirmed with an additional notice as required by the Planning Act.
