It is critical to know your GPS numbers so others can locate you easily, emergency or otherwise.

To find your GPS coordinates use:

your smartphone (location enabled)

 Google Maps, or  GPS coordinates

  • search for "McGregor Bay, ON"
  • zoom in on your property
  • click on your location
  • GPS coordinates are given

(note: coordinates are expressed as DMS: degrees, minutes, seconds; as DD: decimal degrees; or as DDM degrees, decimal minutes. Know which one you are using!)

Canadian Topographical Maps

  • free app from iTunes (also available to use while offline without a signal)
  • Topographic maps are useful for recreational activities such as hiking, canoeing, camping, fishing, mountain biking, etc.
  • Flag a location, or find a location by adding a flag and dialing in GPS coordinates.

It is YOUR responsibility to write down your GPS numbers

with your Emergency Contact Numbers.

MNRF Gridmap location information should also be recorded.
