Enjoy an unspoiled northern experience.
The fire pumps are scheduled to be picked up and winterized by October 15, 2017 and scheduled to be replaced by May 15, 2018. I also requested that any pump station threatened by high water be moved to higher ground.

As the new Chairman of the MBA Fishing Committee, I can report that people have indicated that, overall, fishing is good. Have fun out there.

Really enjoyed dinner and the two plays at Parish Hall last evening. THANKS to Connie Campbell, Howard Bridges, and all of the actors, servers and those who worked in the kitchen. Also, THANK YOU Daryl Campbell for driving to Sudbury yesterday to pick up the main course.

Prior to 2001, Terry and I knew only a few people in McGregor Bay. When we came to THE BAY, we would only be here for a one or two week vacation. So, like many others, we would work around the cabins, fish and relax. Once we retired and started spending our summer months in THE BAY, we joined the McGregor Bay Association (MBA) and started meeting many great people from all parts of Canada, the U.S. and other countries. We have enjoyed many functions at Parish Hall, had great times at other…Continue

As of this AM, MNR&F has changed the forest fire rating for our area to "LOW". While this is great news, please be VERY, VERY careful. Remember, if you see an unattended forest fire, first call 310-FIRE (3473) then call for help.

While it seems like we have had a lot of rain, MNR&F has us listed as being at moderate risk for forest fires. PLEASE be VERY, VERY careful. So far this season, no fires.

So far this season, no unattended forest fires in McGregor Bay. Even though we have had a lot of rain this season, the forest floor will dry our quickly and we must continue to be careful.

If you want to have a voice in what happens in McGregor Bay, you need to attend ALL meetings of the MBA Board. Without your input, a decision may be made that you do not agree with and your input, while the decision is being made, may influence that decision. Please attend the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on August 6 at 4:00 PM (registration at 3:00 PM) and the next Board meeting on August 12 at 9:30 AM. If you cannot make these meetings, I am sure you can express your concerns by…Continue

There is a fire pump at Strato's. I guess it was a little late getting there.

If anyone "borrowed" the fire pump and gas can located near Strato/Bragg camp, please return them ASAP as someone may need it to protect their property.

Fire pumps should be at all of the pump stations. They were tested and made ready last week. If you have your own pump, please test it ASAP.
So far so good - no reported fires.
Remember: 310-FIRE (3473)

All of us are probably thinking about our return to McGregor Bay. Some have spent time there during late fall, winter and early spring. Most of us arrive after it warms up (mid-May) and leave before it gets too cold (mid-October). There are a thousand things to do when you arrive and when you close. I would like to remind those who have their own fire pump systems that they must check them as soon as possible after arrival and make any repairs.…Continue

I am happy to say that 15+ private fire pump systems were purchased last summer. Those systems consisted of a Honda WH20 pump, 100+ feet of hoses and a nozzle. THANK YOU Murray Still and John Bush for coordinating the purchase of these fire pump systems.
I hope this trend continues in the future. We purchased our system three years ago and we are better prepared to fight a fire. As I have said before, we are located…Continue

I, like most, did not and do not like the idea of posting "slow" signs in THE BAY. However, I also know that just asking people to slow down at the three choke points has not worked. Boats have gotten bigger and faster over the years and boaters have become increasingly careless.
I have been coming to THE BAY sine 1959. I do not…Continue
