Event Description

Dr. Pat Chow-Fraser, will be here in the Bay doing research and testing for their coastal wetlands study. She is both a professor of Biology, and head of McMaster University’s Coastal Wetland Research Group.

"They explore the reasons for wetland degradation and seek ways to restore their ecological functions. They have developed environmental indices of wetland quality that can be used to assess the ecological status of coastal wetlands, and to track changes in these ecosystems following remedial actions or changes in environmental conditions."

Georgian Bay's Vital Signs, video

She will also notify us of her location for collecting fish and specimens so that all Bay families can drop in and see what's happening.
