In the past Ferguson Maintenance had a permit to burn on the island.

That is no longer the case and has not been since 2016. Last summer some folks from the Garden Group took soil, pine seedlings, sedum and some grasses out to the Burn Island.  We put out 6 bags of 25L soil and planted the things we brought.  These were kept watered over the course of the summer.

This summer my grandkids and I took out 6 more bags of soil and some additional plants.  On one of our watering trips we were dismayed to find that someone had been dumping. We took everything that had been dumped back to our island to dispose of. There is a sign that specifically says "No Dumping".  Apparently some folks can't read.  Why can't people get rid of their trash like the rest of us?  Why continue to deface the Burn Island when the Garden Group are trying to restore it.  Please join us in this effort and stop dumping on the Burn Island.
